Tampa's pickleball scene has exploded alongside the city's growth — new courts are opening constantly and the community plays year-round. The challenge is Florida's rainy season, which runs May through October and can soak courts overnight without warning. Playable checks those overnight conditions before you make the trip.
How it works
Playable checks temperature, wind, and 12 hours of rainfall for your Tampa courts — then gives you a simple verdict for each morning.

Excellent — enjoy it before May
March and April are Tampa pickleball at its finest. Morning temps in the mid-60s to low 70s, low humidity, and consistently dry courts. The community is active and conditions are nearly perfect most days. By mid-May the rainy season begins creeping in — humidity rises and afternoon storm frequency increases.
Overnight rain is the main variable
June through September, Tampa earns its reputation as one of the lightning capitals of North America. Afternoon and evening storms are near-daily, and overnight systems regularly leave courts wet by morning. The 7 AM hour is usually clear but warm (80–88°F). Playable's rainfall check tells you whether last night's storm left the court playable.
Dry season returns in October
October marks the transition — storms thin out, humidity starts dropping, and courts begin staying dry through the night. By November conditions are consistently excellent. Temperatures settle into a comfortable range (68–76°F mornings), and the pickleball community that plays year-round hits its stride.
Peak season for year-round play
December through February is when Tampa pickleball is most active. Mornings run 60–70°F, rain is infrequent, and courts are reliably dry. The occasional cold front can push morning temps into the upper 40s for a day or two — those are the few mornings Playable will flag as borderline.
